There a Bad Movies and then there are just plain Movies That Are Terrible.

When I think "Bad Movies" I think stuff like the Star Wars Holiday Special or GI Joe or The Room--stuff that is almost (but not always) deliberately corny and is enjoyably bad.

When someone asks me what hands down the worst movie I've ever seen is, I always answer Cat In the Hat. Because it is a Movie That Is Terrible. It's not merely a question of production values or acting or direction or corniness--it's when a movie fails utterly at every task set before it.

The movie in your secret--that's one of them.

Thanks for reminding me about Cat in the Hat.

It ruined the original Dr Seuss book for me.

I dunno, it was so completely an utterly removed from the source material that I can't even compare the two in my head.
