Nah, makes sense in a way. Many people who write non-con (and label it as such) know exactly what they're writing. They tend to understand that's it's messed up and so some people can see it as more of a fantasy.

Whereas many dub-con writers can trip into that mindset of, "Oh... It's not actually rape because they really do love each other see!" And meanwhile you've got the reader going, "Umm... no. That's skeevy as hell."

In short, it's what happens when author intention fails to line up with reader perception.
