KotOR II was Obsidian, not BioWare. Not much foreshadowing when it's from an entirely different company, you know...

In any case, I like BioWare's romances, and I think anyone who wants them cut is a selfish asshole (seriously, optional content is optional), but I think it would be devoting WAAAY too many resources to that aspect of the game if you could start hooking up your companions willy nilly.

Besides that, it makes the characters weaker. Most people would not just date ANYONE. In Dragon Age: Origins, Alistair would never date Morrigan, but I can see him hooking up with Leliana (indeed, he actually does in a DLC). I can only see more complaining from fans if they allow you to hook some characters up but not all characters. People already bitch if they can't romance so-and-so character, regardless of whether it's in their personality (for instance, Sten), I can't imagine how annoyed and entitled people would get if they couldn't just hook up characters as they saw fit.

That's what fanfiction is for, after all---the thousands of hookups forbidden by canon!

Oh, I know it was from a different company.

Just commenting on the fact that both endings were less than satisfactory. In KOTOR II's case, I think they may have been expecting a KOTOR III to happen.

Being that KOTOR was Bioware's to begin with and Obsidian had to work with Bioware's material, I think it's a valid observation.

The endings of the two movies are so eerily alike it feels like virtual foreshadowing. Hell, ME3's ending made me think of K2's ending so much it's not funny. I think it's a legitimate observation, because, if memory serves, KOTOR was originally Bioware, right? Obsidian had to work with what Bioware had. So, the observation is not as offbase as you would like to call it.

Entitled? Oh, the snooty "those entitled fans" mentality. You come off as judgemental calling people selfish for wanting to see something different, or see other options. Yeah, I know all about the resources when writing a game, etc, etc, but it still makes you look like a complete ass for being so judgemental. You're whining about bitching fans who dare to have an opinion instead of understanding YMMV.

Ooh, tou-chy! Look at you, with your big boy pants on!

Yeah, it's pretty entitled to bitch in a scenario where you have personal romantic interests, romantic interests you can hook up together, and THEN complaining you can't hook up the two characters you really, really wanted to, fuck characterization and budget!

Pretty damn entitled.

I don't care if you want more options, I care if you're the type of person who's going to bitch the devs that you're not getting them.

Like I said, judgemental.

People are entitled to their opinions, whether or not you can stand that entiltlement yourself- They should be able to express their opinions without the judgemental noise.

Bioware and the devs are grown up, you don't need to be their voice. They can stand to hear feedback from their paying customers. That's how business works, no matter what they or you may think should be otherwise.

I like your train of thought:

People are allowed to have their opinions on whatever they want!

But you can't have your opinions on their opinions! That's wrong!

Like I said, I'm not mad or forbidding people from wanting more options. The entitled people are the numerous assholes on the internet demanding so-and-so feature because they're paying customers dammit, and they want to hook up Fenris and Anders and BioWare should be letting them! That's totally entitled. They feel entitled to whatever they want because they want. If you would like something, and you ask, that's one thing. But making demands of developers is entitled.

Judgemental opinions are not cool. It's one thing to not agree with someone or even get tired of something, it's another to call other fans assholes or entitled. It's just a way of saying my opinion is more important than yours.

Anders/Fenris isn't going to happen outside fanfic or rp. But I don't get upset with people who want Anders/Fenris to the point that I call them assholes. Sometimes I find it tiring, yes, but I don't attack the people themselves because not everyone who wants Anders/Fenris is an asshole. And wanting Anders/Fenris, or any other OOC pairing doesn't automatically make someone a demanding asshole, either. If they ask, fine. But only when do they demand then they are assholes- because it is OOC, and I don't make that assumption about everyone who wants Anders/Fenris.

Even then, if a story does happen to be badly written (and, IMO, DA2 is fucking brilliant no matter what anyone says so there's no question about no OOC Anders/Fenris here), the customers do have a right to point that out, that they won't pay anymore for bad writing.
