Agreed. I wish these people would realize that just because you like an actor doesn't mean they have to be in EVERYTHING EVER. Their fancastings are always so unimaginative.

Fancasts are almost always unimaginative. People usually can't look past similar coloration/played a similar role before.

But I agree I wouldn't want to see Cumberbatch in Doctor Who, especially as 12. Honestly, I'm not sure why anyone would want to see a face they'd recognize. I like new faces.

Completely OT -- is your icon from one of the stretching-room portraits in Disney's Haunted House?

In fact it is! The Tightrope Walker, by Marc Davis. This is the first face and version of the painting, where she is clearly sort of insane.
