Haruhi takes Mikuru (the red headed girl) into the computer club, and when they refuse to give her a computer, she put the club president's hand on Mikuru's chest. Mikuru cries, Haruhi knocks the two onto the floor so it looks sexual, takes pictures, and threatens blackmail if she doesn't get the computer she wants.

To be fair, they've barely met, it's like the second episode in the whole series.

But yeah, that scene always caused me to like Haruhi much less than everyone else, it seems.

It's Haruhi's character type, and to be honest, Mikuru cries at just about everything that happens in the series. They're playing baseball and she cries and curls up into a ball when the ball comes near her when she's supposed to catch it.

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. I highly recommend it, actually, it's very cute and fun. A piece of advice, though: The episodes aren't in chronological order, and I'd advise you not to watch them in chronological order. Watch them the way they were aired. It makes it confusing at points because the characters often refer to "something" that happened mid-series, but you don't find out what it was until later. But it's much more satisfying as a series that way, and it has a better resolution.

Wow, I have to admit, that scene really turned me off of the show. That girl's really a bitch.

Though I like the idea of the episodes not being in chronological order.

Eh, I don't know. It wasn't a point that really bothered me in the show, to be honest, just because it had already been established that Haruhi was that kind of person, and you probably would have been turned off by her long before that if it bothered you.
