I hated the epilogue. As a matter of fact, when it came out on the internet, my friends and I were CONVINCED that it wasn't real because JKR's writing, while down-hill book 6, isn't that bad. Needless to say, we were wrong, sadly.

I don't like it. I think it reads like a 12 year old wrote it, and if you don't like the bitching about it, don't read it. If I want to make loads of bitchy posts about my hating the epilogue (which I haven't) or make loads of sarcastic icons about the epilogue (which I haven't), I will, and that is my perrogative.

As far as I'm concerned, the only good thing to come out of the epilogue was the fact that I can now ship Harry/Teddy.

Get over it.

What really bothered me were the names. I mean, could we sound any more Mary Sue-ish? The epilogue read like bad fanfiction to me. And yeah, book six and book seven really just didn't do it for me. I get that people like those two books, but damn if I ever will.

Yeah, it did. I haven't read fanfiction in years though. I could compare it in my head to most of Clamp's second seasons. How can the same authors ruin their own work? :( -I know, that's how the author wanted it, right? It doesn't mean it's good though. Opinions, opinions.-

You took the words out of my mouth, I loved the book but hated that frigging epilogue, I'm actually convinced that she allowed her teenage daughter Jessica to write it, 'cause it sounds like some twelve year old fangirl's wet dream.

I was the contrary, actually, since HBP was so bad, the minute I saw the epilogue I knew it was real, HBP sucked horribly, so the epilogue went perfectly well with that piece of garbage.

You don't have to look for the bitching to find it. I haven't gone out of my way to read whiny posts. Looking for even the most casual of things in the fandom leads to bitchy self entitled fans who are wah-wah that the book didn't end like they wanted.

We'll have to agree to disagree then, because I find it amusing that others feel annoyed or threatened by our dissent with teh holy author. I haven't seen anyone who's acted like they were entitled to their particular ending. Fuck, I've seen OBHWF shippers hate the ending.

My friends and I aren't upset we didn't get our dream ending -- We're amused that those who did got one that we think was written so poorly.

Yes, we ARE literary snobs.

I agree with you completely. I do feel rather bad for all the OBHWF shippers, in fact. Personally, I haven't bitched about it on the Internet, either, but if the OP doesn't like to read other people's opinions on the epilogue - be them valid literary analyses or "bitchy and self-entitled" whining posts, all she/he has to do is ignore them.
