Yeah, I agree with you. I think people should be able to say what they think, if only some people didn't say it so annoyingly.

But I WILL say.. I ship non-canon, and it's hard being constantly pegged and put in a box with what you just said about "people who are mad JKR didn't write in their OTP". Seems like if you don't ship the ships at the end of the book, and you don't like the epilogue, that MUST be the reason and get over it. when that's not the case. I didn't like it because I thought it was cheesy and unnecessary. I actually would've been MORE upset if she'd written that epilogue with MY OTP in it. I just wish I could just dislike it without having people say, "you're just mad blank and blank didn't hook up blah, blah". You know? I'm sure you get that.

Then you're not one of the people I was talking about. :) Shipping non-canon is totally fine... I shipped Remus/Tonks before I knew it was canon, nor did I think it was going to be. And I have several friends who ship things that definitely are not canon.

See, there's a difference between liking a non-canon ship (and even wanting it to be canon - that's fine, as long as it's somewhat plausible) and actually faulting JKR as a person for not doing so. That's what I object to. There are things I definitely disagree with JKR on in terms of what she writes, (though not so much shipwise), but I don't claim she writes those things to make bigoted political statements, hates her fans, etc.
