You more or less make a public post telling the people who post in it to copy a list (stuff like name, gender, interests, etc etc.) to past said list with their answers as comments. Here's one (http://community.livejournal.com/r_w_umbrella/3755.html) I participated in not that long ago so you can get the general idea.
