I just started watching the James Bond movies one after the other recently, and I actually kind of like them! So thanks for the secret, I guess? :-)

Holy crap, I don't know if this was on purpose or by accident, but the Bond secret is number 07. :D

And honestly you don't have to be ashamed for being moved by a cultural artifact that's paying homage to it's ancestry. Skyfall is all about exploring British determination as represented through the Bond franchise, with both its cultural successes and failures. (I can't remember which article I read that in, but I thought it was a very succinct explanation of some of the deeper thematic elements in the film.)

But now you've inspired me to go trawling for videos of the Olympic opening ceremony, see how it fits in with the rest of the movie. :)

I totally get that. I grew up with the Bond movies. When people asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, I'd say that I want to be James Bond. This whole series, even the bad movies, even the Bonds or Qs or Ms I don't particularly like, makes me so emotional and nostalgic.

I got teary-eyed over the theme during Skyfall. IDK why either. I'm not even a huge Bond fan; I've only seen a handful of the films.

I don't get any kind of emotions while watching it, but hey, it's a great tune. Nothing wrong with liking it and being emotional about it.

I do the same OP, and it is embarrassing! I'm British but even so. I've always had a soft spot for Bond, but in fact didn't like the last two Daniel Craig films, loved Skyfall, but even if I don't like the film, the music gets to me.
