Actually the Russians under Stalin killed a hell of a lot of Eastern Europeans including Jews during WWII.

They aren't unequivocal good guys. They just aren't Nazis.

It was interesting that when WWII ended, the surviving higher ups in the Nazi command were warning the Americans against the Soviets and even saying that they should team up and defeat them before the USSR became too powerful.
