Yea, I remember those threads. I think I linked to one fic; someone else had gotten to the others before me. :)

LOTR fandom was not the best fandom for quality fic, no... The Hobbit seems to be a bit better about that, but like any fandom there's still a lot of badfic.

Yeah, Elephantgrace I think.

It really is not... I don't really want to read The Hobbit fics though... Yeah all fandoms got bad fanfics, but LoTR got a lot more badfics than I am used to.

Just avoid FFN. I can't even look there without running into this that and the other fic with a badly named OC joining the Company, and while the best Hobbit/LotR fic I have found since first watching the movie I found on FFN, I found it in the Hobbit/LotR crossover section, and am now following it on AO3, because I like the commenting system better.
