I just read through the whole thing and came out very confused... I had no idea Americans and France and...Russia?? All disliked each other so much.

Here's the truth. As people, Russians, French and Americans don't hate each other. However, our collective governments are a different matter. But then governments are always bickering with each other. That's part of their job.
