I was with you, and may have squeed a little at the idea of Megan in Equestria Girls because I hadn't even considered it and I love it, but then you had to imply no one cares about G1.

This is why I don't want to rejoin the fandom after I left when I moved to a new state and job around the time G3 became G3.5. It's now acceptable and funny to dump on those who have loved these ponies since they were kids in the 80s. How a fandom, based on a kid's show that teaches acceptance and tolerance, can be so disrespectful I don't know. Sure, we teased those who love G2 but we never out right mocked them to the extent Bronies mock the earlier generations. It was all in good fun. I was on YouTube the other day looking at pony videos and some of the Brony videos about G1-G3 are somewhat cruel.

I never used to be ashamed to admit I collect My Little Ponies in my life before. Ever since the evolution of the Brony, I have a hard time admitting it to people. And that's sad. I want to share in the love for G4, which I like just as much as G1, but I find myself unable to because of things like this.

Can you tell I've held in these feelings for a while? /end rant

'Bronies' hate on G1-G3 because they need to distance themselves from the franchise. It's okay for grown men to like G4 because it's ~different~ and ~more adult~, when in actuality it isn't. The G4 stories are very generic kid show fare, it's so amusing that now the adult male fanbase is getting in a huff about it getting more "girly". You rave about a magical talking colored pony show, what did you think you were watching? Batman? Don't get me started on how obnoxious CR is being.

I see so much of G1/G2 in G4, it's crazy. Ponies hanging out in a sweets shop? Check. Magical bearer of knowledge who lives in the woods? Check. Rabbit who helps out one of the characters? Check. Baby characters that are trying to be adults? Check. The list goes on.
