This. There are shows I've stopped watching even after several seasons, but generally when you watch something for a long time, you are invested in it. You want to know what happens to the characters. You often have some hope that the show might get better again. Even when you don't have hope, you're morbidly curious how the character assassination and the terrible plots will continue.

And it pisses me off even more when people say "just stop watching" when you only criticize one aspect of the show. Most shows don't turn from amazing to shit in one episode. Often you hate some things, but you still love others. I have shows I only watch for one character anymore.

Yep, that's exactly it.

And most shows DO have shit episodes or scenes (hell, even seasons!); I don't see anything wrong with discussing your feelings on the material. (That's what fandom is for!) No one has to agree.

Though TBH, after a certain point I just don't care to discuss specific episodes anymore. (Usually when I start disliking something, or my interest starts waning.)
