They constrict too much and do damage to the ribs.

Sorry to bother you here but I saw you mention this soemwher else and have to ask, can you link me to that epic TEEN WORF BABBYPIG (STILES) Mpreg fic? It was like 36 chapters with a lot of angsts, at first he didn't know who the father was because he hadn't felt anything when HOEKITCHEN (DEREK) raped him from behind, he thought it was just a massage (lol), and the POTATO almost died becayse he didn't notice he was in labor int he wheel chair. He was also worried about getting fat and bloated with fat ankles and anorexic for a while I hope you didn't take it off line it was soooooo good!

0/10 This isn't 4chan. Copypasta spam won't fly here.

is this... some sort of troll?

because if it is, you are stupid. And if it's not... you are really stupid.

Definitely a troll; they've been spamming several people today with some variation on "Sorry to bother you, but can you help me find [insert word vomit] fic?"

Since Ace bandages are used for support (like for ankles and wrists) it's not flexible and doesn't allow for expanding and contracting with the chest when you breathe. It can actually get tighter with extended wear which can cause bruising, damage to breast tissue, lung restriction which can lead to fainting, and broken ribs.

I did not know that. Well, that explains the issues I had during the plays I've done wherein I was playing a man. I will have to keep that in mind for next time.

The obnoxious part is that when you are in recovery from top surgery, guess what you have to wear for a week without taking it off once, even to shower?

If you guessed "an ace fucking bandage," you understand why I am currently wheezing impotently into this anon post.

Ace bandages are designed to tighten with movement, so they end up restricting you far more than you initially meant to. Doing it once or twice a year for cosplay, as long as you're careful, isn't going to do much damage aside from making you a little sore, but they're not a good option for everyday binding.

Don't remind me. -shudder- I have underdeveloped lungs and I actually passed out at a con.

(Seriously, though, don't use Ace bandages.)

AYRT - oh geeze D: Yeah, I'd never try it myself, seeing as I have enough breathing problems with nothing at all, but a friend of a friend bound with Ace bandages for Anime Expo, and she seemed fine, if rather uncomfortable in the midday heat, which is when she changed. It's doable, I know that much, but it definitely isn't something I'd recommend. $40 for a decent binder is worth it compared to a possible ambulance ride :|a

(I have a tendency to be a little soft with things that aren't a good idea because inevitably somebody will jump in with, "Well that didn't happen to ME," and then I'm backtracking anyway.)

They tend to get tighter and tighter as you breathe. It's dangerous. They restrict your breathing to a ridiculous degree.

I used them once upon a time, before I got my first real binder. I couldn't wear them for more than like an hour at a time. Really, a real binder is so much better, it makes a world of difference. If you can afford to use something else, don't use Ace bandages.
