How about if I judge you for lumping a whole bunch of totally unrelated works of fiction together. No, seriously. You like what you like, and whatever, but the only common thread here is you.

I can't blame the OP for this, as a lot of people will lump The Classics together as if they belong to their own special-snowflake genre.

Many in this thread have stated that OP (and anyone who feels this way) shouldn't feel obligated to read something they don't enjoy, and I agree.

But if they're defining 'classics' as 'anything that looks similar to anything I was forced to read in high school', and dismissing the lot, they might miss out on something they *could* enjoy.

Which, granted, is their right. But never forget, all generalizations are bad! (Heh.)
