Kisses in the rain are so ridiculous. You're gonna get sick! ...yet they still make me melt. Especially if the romance wasn't the focus of the story. Romantic lines occasionally turn me into a puddle of goo too.

But let's not make that public information. *cough* I have a reputation to take care of.

Damage is done, I'm afraid. From now on, you're badass_tigger, and you'll never recover from that. Never.

Rain making you sick is a myth, anyway. As long as the couple dries off properly afterwards, it's not any worse than, say, being at the beach.

I'm a bit of a sucker for kisses in the rain, too. I was a little sad when my partner expressed a dislike for being sopping wet while clothed, but kisses in the shower suffice |D

Oh really? I never knew that! I thought it was something about being out in the cold that can make you sick? Ah well, what do I know, I was never good at biology.

Well having sex at the beach can make all kinds of nasty things get into places you'd rather not have nasty things, I know that for sure

AYRT - I'm not very good at biology, either XD; I think the problem is that yes, cold can give your immune system a beating, and if you're soaked for a prolonged period of time in the cold, you can make yourself more susceptible to germs which will make you sick, but generally speaking, being out in the rain, in and of itself, is not going to make you sick. (And it certainly isn't going to make you sick an hour after being in the rain, like most media will lead you to believe - colds have about a 3 day incubation period before they start making your life miserable.) It's just water, and if it's warm enough to rain and not require you to wear a sturdy coat or jacket, chances are you'll be fine so long as you don't go chill in an air-conditioned store or something (which is how I caught a summer cold in Florida).

I dunno, one time I was out in the rain in the middle of November at 3 am, for maybe 45 minutes. I took a hot shower and dried myself off immediately afterwards specifically to avoid getting sick and for the next couple of days I was a mess. Could barely breathe, couldn't hear, extreme dizziness. And I almost never get sick.

Vancouver (BC) has a high incidence of homeless fatalities because they think "It's the West Coast, it doesn't get down past -10C at the coldest, where's the harm?" and the harm is getting down past -10C and staying there overnight and AND GETTING SOAKED SIMULTANEOUSLY. It's a guaranteed recipe for hypothermia. I would rather be out in -40C in the North, then anything below -10C in the Pacific Northwest, when it's raining.

There's also the fact that cold weather tends to go hand in hand with people spending more time indoors- the more you're in close quarters (or close physical contact) with other people, the more you're going to be exposed to their germs.
