I've read several Remus/Hermione fanfics where Lupin has been turned into a raging, possessive, abusive monster and Hermione enables this behavior and submits to it because... werewolf, I guess? That's how they explain it but it never comes off as anything bad extremely OOC and very creepy. WTF, HP fandom, this is what you want to read? Buy Eclipse and read that.

I don't know what it is about the HP fandom (the sheer number of fics maybe?) but the amount of terrible in that fandom is staggering. Of course, there's tons of good ones, but when I think of the worst written, most OOC, most wtf disturbing (not in a good way) fics - a big chunk of them are HP.

SPN and LotR are close seconds, and again huge fandoms. Now Im wondering if tiny fandoms are tiny b/c people post only the goodfic and don't bother posting the mediocre or outright bad.
