I think if there was some way for the two extremes ("people who like this are idiots" and "people who don't like this are idiots") to completely avoid each other, you'd get a lot less people telling each other what to do. That said, this will never happen and there are people who either get defensive over everything or enjoy the way they can piss others off way too much. Oh, internet.
