Uneven breasts and breasts that sag are very common.

It's amazing what a well fitted bra can do. Unfortunately a lot of people aren't in the right size. If you know the right places to look there's a bra for everything, not all A cups are push ups. (even if they aren't always easy to find.)

But if you want to try a binder that's your call. I doubt your friends will find you shallow, but if you're worried you can always research it on your own and not tell them.

This. There are plenty of bras that aren't push-ups or padded-- I don't wear those kind of bras either and I've never had an issue finding things that I like. You just need to shop around and check out a bunch of different brands.

Not OP, but I found these links helpful. I really can't recommend enough to people who happen to have boobs of any size to find out what their proper size is.
