(Anonymous) 2013-02-18 01:43 am (UTC)(link)Probably no-one remembers but I posted in the GC last year about suddenly losing hair. It's still happening and I rather hate it too, having the choice taken from you. I've started wearing hats and beanies reluctantly and it was nice how people commented on how cute they are. I got a bob cut too, so its long enough to hide any bald spots, but not so long it weighs down and shows them and also the...poofy? the poofy of it helps give an illusion of thickness (it is a haircut I used to avoid because thick hair = REALLY poof but now it's acceptable poofy. kind of looks like girl in secrets hair)
I think my alopecia is lessening. If it helps OP, mine was caused by a combination of night shift work and Vitamin D deficiency and probably not enough protein because I forget to fead myself properly. o foxed the d3 deficiency first and it didn't stop hair falling out but those that had started regrowing so hair would fall out cause already damaged and a week later would be growing back. the spots that fell out before i fixed the deficiency needed injection help to grow. turns out d3 is part of the indicator telling hair to grow. protein is what your hair is made out of so i eat more of that since during nights i basically just ate bread.
stopping ngiht shift has stopped my hair falling out (as much, I find it takes about 1-2 months for anything i do to affect my hair)
but i hope some of that helps you out OP. it really sucks. I'm glad she's making you feel better about your hair
