The very concept of Classics is B.S., anyway, OP, so don't sweat it

Or at the very least, the way the concept of classic literature is most often applied. Some people use "classics" to mean any old book or literature, while others only apply it to famous ones or ones that had some sort of special impact or influence on the world. It's a pretty broad stroke, and if you go around asking people "can you give me a list of classics", you'll find most or all of these are different. Very different.

Honestly, OP, like others have mentioned, I'd say just try treating these the way you'd treat any "non-classic" book. Use recommendations from people you trust or whose tastes you know overlap a lot with your own, read some reviews or use Goodreads or whatever, and basically just start reading to see if you like it and put it down when you don't.

I, personally, am not fond of most "conventional" classics (but then I'm incredibly picky about all books, regardless of age), but I've found a few gems amongst them. Don't deprive yourself because your school/community/friends/etc have turned you off of them or judged you over it, OP! :)
