I know players of Skyrim, or Elder Scrolls who stick to one or two guilds at most with a character. Often they will roll a different character to check out the different guilds, and their fics reflect that.

I look at the game as open-ended, with possibilitis. Sure I might do a complete playthrough with a character just to have fun with the game, but in fic that character is limited to one or two guilds at most, maybe leader of one, having left another guild some time before, etc.
