He's hugely phallic, indomitable, faceless, unbelievably powerful and strong, silent, cruel, and relentless (and has a great body). Oh, and a a literal physical manifestation of punishment

95% of sexual fantasies have to do with power dynamics in some way, while most kinkier D/s fantasies extend that power dynamic specifically to punishment.

Nothing to be afraid of, kid. Perfect smut casts out fear.

Guess I'm not normal, then.

lol... what?

Just because many normal people have fantasies like that doesn't mean all normal people do. I think the real issue here is that you're desperate to make this about yourself in some way.

Sorry. "I guess I belong to the 5% minority of humanity who doesn't enjoy BDSM fantasies, doesn't find scary monsters like Pyramid Head sexy and find it unsettling when people get wet at the thought of Pyramid Head raping them, then."

I don't know if the fact that you read "95% of sexual fantasies involve power play," as "95% of sexual fantasies involve being BDSMly raped by a pyramid-headed serial killer," is sad or Freudian. Both, maybe.

U, maybe.

This is a reply I would use myself and so I approve of it

95%? Where did you get those numbers? I must be more vanilla than I thought since only like 1 out of 10 of my fantasies have to do with power dynamics.

I was referring to specifically kinky kinks, like bondage, public sex, clothed sex, roleplay, etc etc. I didn't want to use "specific" twice though.

Although more kinks than you would suspect involve power dynamics, since a huge hunk of all human interaction involves subtle or obvious power dynamics, because we're social creatures.

Maybe even 95%!

Better to use a word twice if it means people will understand you, I always say (it's really the first time I've said it, but whatever).

Still wondering we're you got the numbers from, though. Human sexuality is interesting, and I'd love to check out your source.

Eh just my own experience with kinks and kinky people (which I think is pretty extensive for one person; I have been a purveyor of /d/ and kink memes for a while), and like I said, so much of human society being exchanges or acknowledgement of power and status in just everyday interaction and conversation. The excitement and obviousness definitely gets ramped up a notch when sex is involved.

But I mean, think about it. Beyond plain pleasurable sensation, like "pure" masochism (which is rare without SOME kind of power play), most fantasies beyond the most basic vague "me fucking this person" involve some element of surrender or control. IME it's a bit more often surrender, even if it's "surrendering to pleasure," which it often is. You know? One person being the actor, the other receiving and reacting to that act, even if that dynamic then changes in the next scene of the fantasy.

And then what most of society thinks of as "kink" is very obvious with it. Bondage, roleplay. Even public naughtiness like dirty calls or texts, up to exhibitionism and voyeurism, has to do with all the complicated social mores regarding privacy, rules, and SELF-control, and that all being breached, broken, or overruled by the fantasizer or the object of their fantasy.

Pyramid Head, along with his ilk of rape fantasy and hardcore BDSM themes, is just a very blatant, super-exaggerated extreme on the spectrum.

:( Aww, and here I thought there was some actual research. Never mind.

;-;

i know BUT I didn't expect to be asked to cite my sources, to be honest. I thought We (meaning the Internet) had agreed en masse long ago that most sexual kink, at its core, had to do with power and control/loss of control in some way. I have erred.
