there's nothing wrong with liking pop music. i have a friend who likes a lot of good rock music and proudly admits that she also loves justin bieber. you like what you like, there's nothing shameful about it! i actually wish i did like one direction, because i had a lot of fun with boybands when i was a teenager, but unfortunately their music does nothing for me.

I'm 25 and I agree with you, OP. Their music just puts me in a ridiculously good mood and is the best kind of ear candy and for me that's enough. I'm also a lesbian, so it's not even that I'm into them because I'm attracted to them, I just think they're adorable (like kittens or puppies). But try explaining that to people.

I don't see anything weird about an adult enjoying a boy band's music. That doesn't even have anything to do with being attracted to them, so I wouldn't even assume that someone did find them attractive unless they talked about it or wrote smutty fic about them or something.

Dude, don't worry. I'll be 29 in a few weeks and I am at the younger end of the spectrum in my part of 1D fandom. I'm talking professionals in their fields-- professors, lawyers, etc. They're all 19 or older, they're not children.

They're actually OK. Not my kind of thing specifically, but you can like whatever type of music you want ... the ears enjoy what the ears enjoy! They do have promise though, it wouldn't surprise me they end up producing some pretty good stuff as they get older.

Also, they're not hard to look at. I'm 40 and feel happy admitting it. So what? There's nothing actually WRONG with appreciating the way someone looks if you find them attractive. Which isn't actually what you said, but I thought I'd put it out there anyway.
