OP, my mom is 53 and she listens to a LOT of pop. She likes 1D as well and I don't see any problem with that. No matter the age, if you like something, you like it.

If people have a problem with that or think it's embarrassing, it's THEIR problem, not yours. Usually it's a sign of childishness, when grown people mock you for your hobbies. That's something teens in middle school do, not adults. If they do, it just goes to show they never really grew up.

I wouldn't worry too much about it :)
