Rumor has it that it might be Light-type, and if so, that means there's a new type. Light doesn't actually exist yet (but I definitely think it should).

So it is a rumor, then! I think the new evolution strikes me more as something from the normal/fairy type, like Clefairy or even along the lines of Togepi.

Actually? I think the Clefairy and Togepi lines should have been Light all along. Also the Chansey line. (And maybe some others, but those are the ones that jump out at me the most.) "Fairy" isn't a type but it would sort of be the same thing. I've thought for a long time that Light should have been incorporated as a type from the beginning, or added in sooner (like Dark and Steel were).

And it's definitely just a rumor, lol. No way to tell if it's even likely to be true at this point. (I'm crossing my fingers though!)

I always thought the normal type attacks where more Light based (like using charm or) to counter the "dirty" tricks from the dark types (like bite). Also fairy should be a type. :PPP

I think Fairy would basically be the same thing as Light lol, and I care less about what they call it than about it actually existing. :P

I keep wondering if the "light" rumor has anything to do with people misinterpreting the statement that it's "light", as in, it's the "lightest" Eeveelution in that it weighs the least.

I feel like Light-type would have too much overlap with Psychic. :/

I don't think, so. I'm pretty sure that fans just want a new type so bad that they'll add it to anything that kind of looks like it. And agreed on the Psychic part.

On the other hand, I've heard more about its weight for a flying type because things that fly tend to be more lightweight.

It looks like a normal type to me.

Might be, but who knows. Looking back at the pic, it does look smaller than Eevee's other evolutions.

I agree on that it would overlap with the Psychic type, though.

I'm really curious as to why people think Light would overlap with Psychic. I just don't see it.

(The overlap thing does make me think of how Rock and Ground should never have been separate types, though. lol)

Think about type advantages and disadvantages and compare the two?

Where does the assumption come from that Light would be weak to Dark? If anything I think it would either be the other way around, or they'd be balanced (strong against each other, or weak against each other. I kind of like the former).

Also Psychic is weak to Bug and Ghost, what's that got to do with Light? And it's strong against Fighting and Psychic...same thing. I really don't see the connection.
