Sort of fandom, I guess? Whatever.

There's a girl who I really, really despise on Tumblr (we used to be fandom friends but turns out she's completely two-faced and talks shit about everyone so what the fuck ever), and I can't help but feel smug at how completely fucking terrible her art is. It's really bad. And I'm not even especially great myself- I'm decent, but I'm not great- but every time I see her posting shit on the tag, I just... have to sit there, and marvel at how completely fucking terrible it is.

yeah, ngl, I do the same with some people in my fandom too. i'd be embarrassed for them if I actually liked them.

Yeah, pretty much. It's weird. I don't feel like this at ALL when looking at friends' or strangers' art when they're at a lower skill level, but this chick? Crazy smug.

Same, though I disliked the person because they had absolutely misguided opinions that they passed as fact and were incredibly rude. One time they posted their art on the tag and I was like "LOL you can't draw for shit" (and I'm pretty good, though not excellent. didn't stop me from feeling pretty satisfied)

there's someone like that in my primary fandom too, but her art isn't that bad. it's actually pretty good sometimes, her style can just be a little idk?? i think it's a matter of taste in her case rather than an objective fact that her art is "bad" or something.

but her attitude is fucking vile and i just plain don't like her at all. i feel like she turns people away from the fandom sometimes and it's really annoying.

There's someone I feel that way about on LiveJournal--a sporker who acts like some sort of doyen of fantasy writing. This person is as modestly talented as they are majorly self-important, but what's really amusing is how allergic they are to even the mildest criticism. Any time they get some feedback for their writing that isn't fulsome praise, they write a post dismissing it. This warms the cockles of my heart.
