Um, I've yet to play the third game because my life is too busy so I can't tell you what ancient asari were like.

But I can understand your obsession. I like biological differences too. I also have a huge thing for cultural differences. They make me excited.

(I think they would do what we, humans, do. We find weird native animals and say, "That! I want my alien species to have that!" I'm assuming there are animals on their planet that have two or more sexes so it's possible.)

Essentially you want a scenario like Dragon Age 2? Where almost all the romance options were romanceable by both genders?

Ah, okay. You don't have to worry then. Because there are little things that carry over as well as the large plot decisions. So I was going to say that if you're a completionist it may be in your best interest to find a list of the things that carry over. But if you're just in it for the main plot lie the little things shouldn't matter too much.

Yeah, biological and cultural differences are both great! I love the hanar and their tendency to refer to themselves in the third person. And the Elcor (possibly my favorite race so far? not set in stone) and how they always indicate the "tone" of what they're going to say before they say it. :D

Maybe there are animals on the Asari planet that have two sexes, idk. Sexual reproduction is certainly advantageous from an evolutionary point of view. I would have to wonder if they shared a common ancestor with one sex or two. Sexual reproduction evolved very early in Earth's life forms and most organisms exhibit it to one degree or another.

I also am thinking of the creatures (there are just a few) that reproduce only through parthenogenesis. Some scientists call parthenogenesis a form of sexual reproduction since it technically involves gametes. The organisms that only reproduce this way (some lizards for example) are all-female. The justification for calling them females when their species has no males comes from the fact that their ancestors obviously had males and females, and they basically fill the role of a female by laying eggs/giving birth...they just don't need the male half anymore. Also, some animals can exhibit parthenogenesis even if they don't rely on it (such as some sharks) so females that are definitely female (because males exist) can still sometimes reproduce without them. So I wonder if Asari are like that? or if they never had ancestors with another sex, or not recently enough for it to matter.

Ahaha yes. I really happen to like everyone's voices. The hanar have a kind of resonance. The elcor are very deep. Turian have flanging. Salarians have that high pitched thing going on. Drell voices kind of reverberate. It's cool.

Yeah, I'm not sure. I don't even know if that kind of information exists. Though, I mean, you could world build yourself when you get done with the series.

Oh, I know those lizards! We covered them in my high school biology class. Um, I don't know if that's ever gotten into with asari though. I mean, we do learn about the asari's biological past but I don't know much about it because I haven't gotten to it yet. So you will get some answers but I'm not sure if they will really answer anything or just cause more questions.

Oooh, that makes me really excited to keep playing! (not that I wasn't already lol). I love learning things like that! And I also love worldbuilding so I'll be happy to fill in the blanks if I can ^^
