What happened, OP? Whatever it is, it sounds like you've finally hit some point of closure, which is great, although bittersweet.

I'm digging the feel of this secret though. I hope it was very cathartic for you ♥

it was painful but cathartic
(also, I did because I realized that my entire family has a mild hoarding problem and I really really want to break out of it)

(Anonymous) 2013-02-20 12:59 am (UTC)(link)I am the same way, with the wanting not to be a hoarder. But for me, throwing things out just became another form of self destruction. I'd throw away stuff I actually wanted to keep as a way to punish myself.
So, just as some friendly advice, be careful not to let it come full circle.

(Anonymous) 2013-02-20 01:08 am (UTC)(link)Throwing out my drawings was probably a form of self destruction, looking back. I was in a rough patch in my life and yeah stuff happened. Things have gotten much, much better, though!
But seconding your advice! And hope both you 'nons are doing well now.

With a TON of my old stuff. Trash bags filled so heavily I could hardly lift them.
My parents were pretty pissed, but they were all from a rather destructive time in my life that I didn't want to be reminded of, and I drew like 15 pictures on average a day, as it was.

Anyway, as others before said, sometimes it's a really good thing to move away from things and from people if there's only negative emotions connected to it.
On the other hand, as you say, no need to throw the baby out with the bath water either, if there are stuff you're happy to watch.
So, it's all good that you reached that point. Best wishes for the rest of your life!

(Anonymous) 2013-02-20 04:36 am (UTC)(link)It's only been four for me, but someday I hope I'll be able to say the same.

On the more serious side, good for you! It must have been hard to do, but it's a good sign you are moving on from whatever it was that happened.

Especially because it's the only one I recognized, unless top-left is Wolverine.
