As someone with a moderate amount of dark freckles, I feel like they mostly make my skin look uneven, even when it'd be theoretically healthy and nice. I don't know if your sister feels the same way.

Those three girls have really nice, even skin and I wouldn't really characterize them as having the average sort of freckles, so maybe that's why she isn't noticing? For instance, Merida has curly hair, but she has very pretty, idealized (best) curly hair. It might not exactly convince curly-haired girls that their hair is nice if they don't like it... but I hope it does.

There's also Kim Pine from Scott Pilgrim, but that's not exactly a comic book for young people. Uh...Pippi Longstocking too.

How is Merida's curly hair the "best" kind? It's messy and HUGE and all. I mean, I love it, I just thought ideal curls are like the big, smooth kind you get with a flat iron.

Btw, I don't think anybody confuses freckles with uneven skin. I've had acne problems since I was a teenager, no matter what I do, and I'd take a healthy freckled face any day over my pale-ass face where every little red spot shines like the nose of Rudolf the Reindeer.

Also it's not a competition. As you've never had freckles, I wouldn't exactly presume anything, right? If I'd never had acne, I wouldn't presume to talk about what that was like.
