I was under the impression that Doctor Who fandom was very keen to fight and be nasty to its long-time hereditary enemy Doctor Who fandom.

Whereas Sherlock fandom has been known to be nasty to other fandoms (*cough* Elementary *cough*) and I feel it's more... invasive, what with the Cumberbitches and Cumberbatch being in a lot of things. Not that people are necessarily nasty in that case but sometimes it feels like they can be everywhere.

Yeah, Doctor Who awfulness is usually infighting.

Sherlock fandom gets more of a bad reputation because of stuff like the Elementary debacle or LOTR/Hobbit fans being annoyed by the Smauglock stuff.

Not to mention the embarrassment that was the Downtown Abbey tag invasion.

There've been some turf wars (pre-New Who) between Who fandom and Star Trek fandom in the past. Not THAT much, because there's always been a lot of overlap, cons for both run by the same SMOFs, etc. But there were grudges. But Trek fandom likes to fight with Trek fandom best too, usually along generational lines. (Kirk vs Picard, anyone?)

LMFAO. I'm trying to decide whether this is hilarious, sad, or a combination thereof because it is so true.

I have no horse in the race, but this is the best break down of the situation I have ever read.

The doctor would probably get a kick out of the recursion in this statement.
