There, there, they both have their good and bad points. Finger-pointing isn't the answer.

I feel like a lot of the Sherlock fandom didn't even watch the same show I did, and I don't usually get that from the Doctor Who side. Not to mention that the Sherlock fandom is everywhere. Doctor Who fandom, in my experience, is more self-contained, while the Sherlock fandom is just throwing itself all over every other tangentially related fandom like they're in some kind of competition. Like, calm down, Sherlock and Elementary can peacefully coexist. There's just been a lot of visible nastiness from the Sherlock fandom directed at other fandoms. Which isn't to say there isn't nastiness in the Doctor Who fandom, but it seems to me to be a lot less visible from outside the fandom.
