I was under the impression that poly relationships are compromises where one person has several partners and the partners are okay with sharing? Unlike OT3's where they all bone each other in equal measure?

Granted I don't know this stuff but I'm willing to learn

there are lots of different setups for polyamory. I think the three-people-one-relationship dynamic (there's a name for this but I can't remember it and am lazy) is overrepresented in fandom compared to real life, but ...so is gayness and plenty of other things, ha.

that's an open relationship

a three-person partnership would be a triad

Triad if all are involved all around. If it's one person with two partners, who are not involved with each other, I'd specify that as a V.

That's what I meant by 'partnership'. I hadn't heard of V before. Makes sense.

Oh, you're right. I missed that part. *blames lack of caffeine*

I've read up on and discussed polyamory a lot as I am currently in a poly relationship. ( That's three of us in my icon. I need to make a new one as there are people added.)

That's okay, I thought I might have worded it too vaguely.

Cute! I had done a little bit of research a while ago because I was curious about it.
