I've always thought so. I figure I would appreciate the same thing from someone who's in a different religion from me.

It also tends to open up conversations with people on a larger scale of what they are and are not comfortable with or at least lets them know you're open to that kind of discussion. Such a thing is really helpful because I would hate to think I've ever offended my friends or made them feel uncomfortable. That is the exact opposite of how I generally want them to feel.
