Since you include a Hobbit pic, how many issue would girl!Bilbo face being a hobbit lass in a group of all male dwarves? (Remember, dwarven society has a huge gender imbalance, only a third of their population are female, so probably view women as something that should be protected.)
How many political problems would Thorin have as a woman, of the "I want to marry you so I can claim the throne of Erebor through you" type, when Thorin is usually cast, in genderswap fics, as just as determined to not let anyone else take Erebor as male!Thorin?
It's not hetronormativity if you genuinely want to look at gender issues.
Besides, my reading preferences are: slash > het > femmeslash. I prefer slash more than het, and have almost no interest in femmeslash at all.
