I actually agree with this tbh. I am not looking forward to this plot point. Neal is kind of my least favorite character at this point too.

P.S Can anyone explain how charming thought Regina was Henry's grandma and mother? That totally made no sense to me! Maybe I heard wrong but I literally just sat there like wtf?

I'm not going to tell you how it actually played out so you can keep reading. But ever since Neal got his proper introduction the majority of fandom has been full tilt convinced that he is Bae. The secret was made before the most recent episodes where the truth of the matter came out, so it's only commenting on the speculation. But yeah, get out of this comment thread because there will be spoilers.

It was insanely obvious that Neil was Bae. I'm so amused how shocked some people are. I'm guessing people are going to be shocked when he turns out to be Peter Pan, too.

Not gonna be surprised but wish he wasn't Peter Pan. I'd like him to just be another Lost Boy or something. Felt the same with Whale being Frankenstein. Wasn't surprised but disappointed.

Yeah, him being Peter kind of seems like a stretch. He just doesn't feel like a peter to me at all. Could you really see Neil going up against hook? I can't he seems kinda weasel-y to me more than a clever, strong boy. Even as Bae (I can not get my head around him and kid!Bae being the same, though I thought it was going to happen) he wasn't really a pirate-fighting wonder boy, he was more like a woobie!

I doubt it because 1) Neil was forced to grow up early because of his abusive father, 2) when given the option of rewinding the clock back, he refuses to take it and 3) Neil hates magic. This makes him probably the worst possible candidate for the boy who refuses to grow up and plays with fairies.

I wanted Bae to be Peter Pan, in all honesty. A Lost Boy who never grew up, who found other lost and abandoned kids. And that would have made the Hook v Rumple thing more interesting too.

i hate it tbh. mainly bc i loved little fluffy haired baelfire who stuck to his morals and tried to convince his father to give up his powers so they could live happily. and i hate the idea that he's grown up to be boring as fuck neal who became a thief and let his girlfriend go to jail for him. idgaf what pinnochio said to him it was such an awful thing to do and really out of character for little bae.

I hated it, and the two tumblrs I'm watching right now - anextrapart and bad-faery - are wholeheartedly in agreement, if you want a starting point for like-minded opinions.

I was actually interested in this theory last year - I first saw it proposed the very day Bae was introduced - but since we met Neal...I don't *dislike* him, exactly, but I don't think he fits as Bae.
