This. Also, I've seen a good many fics in fandom where Thorin acts like a dickhead and Bilbo calls him out on it. Not saying there isn't a lot of the opposite, but...badfic exists everywhere, you just have to keep looking.

As for the forced marriage thing...of course it's popular and if it's not your cup of tea I can see getting annoyed with it, but it's just fantasy and doesn't necessarily say anything about the readers age or state of mind. If it's well written I'll read it.

Tbh that's not such an easy task because I'm following a ridiculous amount of stories and after awhile they all start to bleed together. I don't even have them all bookmarked... Lol.

It's an AU but an awesome one, and so far Bilbo has been pretty good about standing up for himself and not letting Thorin get away with much.
