I'm of two minds about this. On the one hand, Sorting clearly has a certain amount of flexibility, as one's preferences may be taken into account and they somehow end up with roughly -- or exactly -- equal class sizes in the four houses, imagine that. I would guess few, if any, characters have only one house they could possibly be in.

On the other hand, I am definitely resistant to putting certain characters in Slytherin, because I feel like putting them there is pushing them to become the worst possible version of themselves. (Sam Winchester, I'm looking at you.)
