And if you truly don't want that, you really just want to be friends because you think the celebrity is nice, then what's to say your friends don't want to just sleep with them because they think the celebrity is hot?

I know of no celebrity friends...and I don't see why they'd be rich, either.

In any case, I sort of get what OP is saying. A lot of people just like daydreaming about the celebrity life without particular care for the celebrity themselves. But I don't think it's exactly noble, either way.
