It's all various headcanons, so it's hard to argue right and wrong about these things. I think it's far more important that once they put them in the house that they show how it works. Just because Rowling made every house but Gryffindor to be rather one dimensional doesn't mean that the houses actually are. I mean, look at some of the people in Gryffindor -- they aren't exactly all brave go-getters.

I mean, if I didn't know better I'd put Ron in Hufflepuff. He's far more loyal, trustworthy, true than daring and chivalrous. And I'd put the Weasley twins in Slytherin for being cunning and ambitious and not afraid of breaking rules for a laugh. So... yeah. Arguments can be made.
