Re: Any suggestions for clearing up complexion?

I recently started using the Oil Cleaning Method, like others I did have a minor breakout after three weeks of use but now my skin looks and feels better than ever. I use the castor-olive-tea tree oil mix. I also like to apply cocoa butter after I've rinsed my face.

This might sound a little weird but I've found tiny dabs of Gold Bond's anti-itch lotion (orange bottle, red pump) to be fantastic at getting acne scabs to come up quicker and it seems to heal the little pink marks quicker too if you keep applying it occasionally.

I always brushed off the pillowcase advice and just washed them along with my sheets but after my brother cut the hair that hung down over his forehead and started changing his pillowcase every night he noticed a pretty significant reduction in his acne.

I've been trying the oil cleansing method off and on, but I haven't been terribly consistent. I have both a castor and olive oil mix, as well as a coconut oil and sugar scrub. Maybe I'll start alternating, or pick up some tea tree oil to mix in with the first.

Ooh, pillowcase changing. Need to remember that.

Yeah I had a pretty rough start with it too but once I started doing it everyday is when I noticed the improvement. As for the tea tree addition: I's just a couple drops in a 1/2 cup to 1/2 cup batch and be careful not to get it too close to your eyes when applying. IDK if it helps any but I've found putting a dry towel over the hot, wet one helps keep the steam in long enough and don't give into the temptation to scrub the oil off, just a light rinse and wipe. I also don't know if you wear mascara but I've found applying the cocoa butter on my eyelids before I put on my mascara makes it easier to wipe off any mistakes or smears.
