(Anonymous) 2013-02-22 05:49 am (UTC)(link)The reason I tend to find Regina a sympathetic character, OP, is because of the fact that the show is making it pretty painfully obvious that all of her life she has been manipulated into doing things as a means for Rumple to cast his curse and get his son back. The woman travels from one abusive and power-driven relationship (with Cora) to another (Leopold) to a third (Rumpel) - and while her actions are reprehensible and I really don't understand and sort of hate the Graham thing as it really doesn't make sense given the Daniel plot (the show's writing, obviously, is lacking) I have a hard time feeling much other than sympathy for her. Her situation is self made, yes, but there are extreme mitigating factors to almost every decision she makes over the course of the show thus far.
