Okay, okay, I got a theory.
The OTP is Wheeljack and Ratchet.
The horde of ill-behaved children is the Dinobots, Aerialbots, and Protectobots. (I have actually heard that term applied to the first two before, though I don't quite recall where.)
The OP can't tell the Dinobots apart from other Dinobots and/or the Protectobots apart from other Protectobots, but can tell the Aerialbots apart.
The explosion is for Wheeljack.
