I don't know if it necessarily means you liked it, but if it ends mid-scene I think it's probably normal to want some kind of closure or an an idea of what happened after, even if it's from fic.

I don't understand how you don't understand this. Maybe someone sucks at video games? Maybe they want to be in the fandom of a video games that's outside their genre (say, horror or fps or something). if they watch the LP and the person playing goes through the whole storyline, I don't see why the person watching shouldn't be in the fandom if they enjoyed the LP!

I mean, they certainly shouldn't be calling themselves gamers, but writing fic or drawing art or squeeing over characters or ships? Yeah, I don't see the problem.

Dude, fanfic is supposed to be fun. Nobody is getting paid for it. Just be happy they put effort into the quality of their work and let them post when they feel like it. I know waiting a long time for an update can suck, but look at it from the writer's perspective, please. ^^;
