Or if they'd be just as happy watching a LP of the game, they can do just that and in fact know just as much about the story as someone who played the game! Enough to join any existing fandom in fact! Magical isn't it?

Yes of course they can but that person was replying specifically to someone who wanted to play FF7 but said it was too hard to work out how.

It's not hard, they can play it if they want. If they don't that's fine, but they shouldn't try to blame it on something else when it's obvious the real reason is they're too freaking lazy.

Before it came out on gog, I wanted to play System Shock 2, but I'd never downloaded a game before, and I wasn't sure how to get it running properly. So you know what I did? I spent 5 fucking minutes looking it up, and oh hey, it's actually pretty easy. I certainly didn't give up before I'd even started and then complain it's too inaccessible.

This is how I played Pokemon Emerald before I finally found a used copy that was under $30 and in good condition.

Same went for Ocarina of Time.
