Word is Asperger's is being removed from the list of coded psych conditions when the DSM-V comes out in a couple months. Fandom fakers have no more excuse for their rudeness.

'bout time they yanked it, its list of diagnostics is so broad that it is virtually useless in determining someone's status. You could bring in a random person off the street and with the list of symptoms find something to justify calling them aspergic. Which is the problem really when it comes to awkward teenage nerds desperate for anything other than being an awkward teenage nerd to justify feeling like an awkward teenage nerd.

Uh, the label is being removed, the condition is not. It just gets shoveled in under Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Thank you.

Diagnostic is changing though. Going to have to be somewhere more than nerdy and pathetic to get the excuse. Lets face it, "am spergy, you gotta be nice to me waaaah" sounded so much more cool than "hey be nice to me, I'm somewhere on the very mildly affected part of the autistic spectrum where I'm considered to be almost fully socially functional and able to interact just fine apart from a few quirks which I would be expected to self manage and not expect any alterations to be made for me". Now for the genuinely afflicted, not much changes because those guys took responsibility for themselves anyway, but the asshole and looking to excuse it crowd, they are all fucking screwed.
