no they do, if you pay attention you can see that the normal shots with the actors are different from the ones using the body doubles.

I feel this way when people ship dwarves and elves. Seriously, how does that even work with the height difference?

C'mon, do have some imagination. There are plenty of people with size kink, and I've already read two mini!John Sherlock stories that mainly consisted of smut.
Then there's Transformers fandom which ships Sam with everyone, including Bumblebee, who, being some four(?) metres tall, is also a freaking robot.

There are many ways to make something seemingly impossible work.

The dwarves are between 4-5 feet tall, right? Elves around 6'. That's not even out of the range of possibility for HUMANS (and humans without dwarfism at that).

It's rather analogous to the Real Life example given. Jared's 6'4 and Gen is at least a head shorter than him, which probably means she's in the early mid 5' range.

yeah, the changing size in scenes was jarring

(up close, with the actors, you can clearly tell they are taller than the scenes where they use doubles or whatever)

I just rewatched the movies and it was hilarious. For closeups the hobbits are at the waist of the humans, far away they would be to like the groin of the actors, and then in CGI scenes (like when Pippin and Merry are escaping from the orcs) they easily ran under a horse.

I don't ship any Hobbit/Human pairings either but frankly I find size differences hot. (The only size difference ship I have in LOTR is Legolas/Gimli. And, well, Bilbo/dwarves but that isn't a significant size difference.)

And sex is doable. Maybe you should do some research...

You do know that dwarves (or little people, if you prefer) living right now, in the real world even(!) are in relationships with taller people, right?

I mean, there are a million different positions to have sex in. And if you're in a bed you can just shimmy on down to crazytown, no height restrictions at all.

And give the movies a break, they're already fucking around with optical illusions like forced perspective. It's not going to be perfect, that's not realistic.

I read a few Human/Hobbit fics back in my LotR days, they're pretty much size kink fodder.

These days I rather ship hobbits (or, well, one in particular) with dwarves, which may be bulkier, but not that much taller. I don't ship Dwarf/elf either, since the only such pairing I like - Legolas/Gimli, I only mildly like and don't particularly hunt it like I do the dwarf/hobbit fics (and I wasn't a fan back in my LotR days, so I'm only reading them in the aftermath of HOT!DWARVES!).

(Though I'm not against shipping Leggy with either of the younger Durins.)
