yeah, the changing size in scenes was jarring

(up close, with the actors, you can clearly tell they are taller than the scenes where they use doubles or whatever)

I just rewatched the movies and it was hilarious. For closeups the hobbits are at the waist of the humans, far away they would be to like the groin of the actors, and then in CGI scenes (like when Pippin and Merry are escaping from the orcs) they easily ran under a horse.
