I've watched my share of lps, and it's because of them that I've showed interest in games that I would never heard of otherwise. Even out of fandom, I still put a lot of research into them: secret endings, character profiles, the game's history (both canon and creation). Why do you need to be a "gamer", which is a vague term to begin with, to a part of a fandom, which is just a bunch of zealous fans who want to enjoy themselves by nerdgasming with other zealous fans who get their inside jokes? It's up to the lp watchers if they're interested in playing the game themselves since they've already know what to expect from the game. Who really cares?
